Luanda Airport nears Mar-2010 completion date

Angola's Luanda International Airport announced its USD150 million Phase II upgrade and expansion is scheduled to be completed in Mar-2010 (macauhub, 18-Feb-2010). The airport plans to expand capacity from 1.2 to 3.6 million passengers p/a. A new international airport is also being constructed in Viana by China International Fund Limited, with two runways and capacity to handle 10 million passengers p/a. The airport is scheduled for completion in 2010. Meanwhile, works at Catumbela International Airport are expected to be completed by the end of 2010.
