LOT returns to Middle East

LOT Polish Airlines announced (20-Jun-2011) plans to resume services to Beirut, Damascus and Cairo, but with fewer flights than in the spring. The airline suspended its operations to the Middle East in May-2011 following the political unrest in the region. Now that the situation has "calmed down", LOT has decided to reintroduce the routes, although with fewer services than before due to lower demand. Services to Beirut will resume from 25-Jun-2011 and will continue to the end of Sep-2011, and the carrier's Warsaw-Cairo route will be reinstated on 02-Jul-2011 with services running until 27-Oct-2011. LOT will also operate 10 flights to Damascus over the Jun-2011 to Aug-2011 period. [more]
