UK Department for Transport launched a public consultation on a draft revised Heathrow Expansion National Policy Statement, with a final planning decision targeted for 2029 and the consultation running until 01-Sep-2026.1 The draft set tests on jobs and economic benefits, climate targets, air quality limits and noise outcomes, and stated expansion could deliver more than GBP40 billion of UK economic benefit.1 Heathrow CEO Thomas Woldbye welcomed publication of the draft statement, said the plan was privately funded and “ready to go”, and cited Savanta polling of 9000 local residents showing 68% support for a third runway.2
