London Gatwick Airport announces new GBP1.11bn five year investment plan

London Gatwick Airport announced (08-Aug-2019) a new GBP1.11 billion five year investment plan. Highlights include:

  • Investments to focus on the overall passenger experience, with innovation and technology to play a greater role;
  • Projects include:
    • Check-in automation;
    • Expansion of the international departure lounges to create additional space for seating, retail and catering units, toilets and other passenger facilities:
    • New biometric auto-boarding technology;
    • Main runway technology optimisation;
    • Additional car parking spaces and robotic car parking;
    • Railway station development.
