Launceston Airport started construction on the AUD5 million Taxiway Foxtrot in partnership with Fulton Hogan in Apr-2025, aiming to accommodate larger freight aircraft such as the A321, which can handle up to 40% more freight than Boeing 737s. The project marked the airport's largest airfield upgrade in over 60 years and was scheduled for completion in late spring 20251 2.
