LATAM Airlines Group awarded Viasat a USD60 million contract to install WiFi on widebodies used for long haul services, with installations scheduled to commence in 20261. LATAM Airlines Brasil sales director Aline Mafra said a wider USD220 million customer-experience investment included USD60 million to implement WiFi in the widebody fleet from 20262. LATAM Airlines CEO Roberto Alvo said it completed retrofits of one 787-9 and eight 787-8s as part of a 24-aircraft modernisation programme launched in 20213.
