LAM operating profit up 15% in 2011, targets 17% pax growth in 2012

LAM Mozambique Airlines reported a 15% year-on-year increase in operating profit in 2011, which the carrier attributes to the use of newer aircraft. According to AllAfrica reports, the carrier also reported a 10% increase in passenger traffic (RPKs) and a 3.0 ppt improvement in load factors to 73%. Looking ahead, LAM is forecasting a 17% increase in passenger numbers and expects to increase online sales as a percentage of ticket revenue to 10% in 2012.
