Korean Air revenue up 14.8%, profits surge in 1Q2010

Korean Air revenue up 14.8% - financial highlights for the three months ended 3-Mar-2010:

  • Operating revenue: USD2,140 million*, +14.8% year-on-year;
  • Operating costs; USD1,699 million, +7.2%;
    • Fuel: USD631.2 million, +5.6%;
    • Labour**: USD232.1 million, +1.0%;
  • Operating profit: USD181.4 million, +3,236%;
  • Net profit: USD141.3 million, compared with a loss of USD433.5 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger traffic (RPKs):
    • Domestic: -4.1%;
    • International: +14.4%;
  • Load factor:
    • Domestic: 57.5%, -0.8 ppt;
    • International: 77.0%, +8.5 ppts;
  • Passenger yield:
    • Domestic: USD 15.23 cents, +1.9%;
    • International: 7.41 cents, -7.6%;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +21.1%;
