Korean Air reports record operating profit in 1Q2010

Korean Air reports (14-Apr-2010) the following financial highlights for the three months ended 31-Mar-2010:

  • Operating revenue: USD2,328 million, +14.8% year-on-year;
    • Cargo: n/a, +57%;
  • Operating profit: USD197.3 million, compared to a loss in the previous corresponding period;
  • Profit before tax: USD203.3 million, compared to a loss of USD603.9 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger traffic (RPKs):
    • International: +14.4%;
    • Premium: +22%;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +21.1%;
  • 2010 Targets:
    • Fleet: 132 aircraft, up from 126 aircraft as of Mar-2010;
  • 2019 Targets:
    • Passenger numbers: 20 million;
    • Cargo volume: 2.5 million tonnes;
