KLM previously said COO Maarten Stienen planned to step down in May-2026, with the airline launching a formal recruitment process that considered internal and external candidates.1 KLM had also outlined a post-2025 board structure in which Stienen remained COO, after chief experience officer and EVP business development Barry ter Voert said he would leave at end-2025.2
