Jetstar Japan announces second base at Osaka

Jetstar Japan announced (23-Aug-2012) the establishment of a second base at Osaka Kansai International Airport from 28-Oct-2012. The new base will enable Jetstar Japan to offer service from Osaka Kansai to destinations including Sapporo (from 24-Aug-2012), Narita, Fukuoka (from 24-Aug-2012) and Okinawa (from 28-Oct-2012). The Jetstar Group currently operates a number of international routes to Osaka from Australia, Singapore, Taipei and Manilla. Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka noted the carrier has handled over 100,000 passengers since its launch in Jul-2012, with this second base to support further network and passenger growth. Meanwhile, Jetstar Japan's fourth A320 aircraft will enter service for the airline on 24-Aug-2012. By the end of 2012, Jetstar Japan will have eight A320 aircraft with two of these based in Osaka. Over the next few years the airline's fleet is scheduled to grow to 24 A320s. Network details are as follows:
