Jetstar Group CEO says 787 has been 'a huge step change in fuel efficiency'

Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (08-Aug-2014) the Boeing 787 has been "a huge step change in fuel efficiency", noting: "The pilots were so excited about the fuel efficiency on the aircraft, and we've seen more of that as the aircraft come in." According to the CAPA Fleets Database, Jetstar has five Boeing 787-8s in service with a further nine on order.
