Jetstar calms check-in fee fears

Jetstar has dismissed concerns from Virgin Australia about it's policy to charge AUD10 for using a check-in desk at airports (The Australian, 24-May-2011). Virgin stated the policy discriminates against people who may require face-to-face or special assistance, saying that "if airlines do not allow people to access their ticket and travel independently then it is hard to see how they can justify charging AUD10 for passengers that need assistance." Jetstar stated it would not impose any fees on customers requiring special assistance during the check-in process.
