Jetstar Airways based an additional aircraft at Gold Coast Airport from Jun-2025 to support new Gold Coast-Hamilton and Gold Coast-Dunedin services, connecting the Gold Coast to Dunedin for the first time and resuming trans Tasman service to Hamilton, with over 115,000 passengers expected per annum. This followed a seven year agreement between Queensland Airports and Qantas Group to foster tourism to Queensland1. No other carriers operated the Sydney-Hamilton route2.
