JetBlue Airways CEO Joanna Geraghty said Spirit Airlines' suspension of operations drove "positive trends" in Fort Lauderdale, where JetBlue became the largest carrier and customers responded well to its product and service1. JetBlue planned a 75% year-on-year increase to nearly 130 daily Fort Lauderdale departures in summer 2026, adding multiple domestic routes from 09-Jul-2026 and new Colombia services from 01-Oct-2026 and 15-Oct-20262. JetBlue also planned to expand its Fort Lauderdale pilot base by around 150 pilots by end-20263.
