Japan's Transport Ministry imposes no-fly zone over nuclear plant

Japan's MLIT has imposed a no-fly zone with a 30km radius around the stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant (Associated Press, 15-Mar-2011). Ministry spokesman Hiroaki Katsuma said the decision was made on 15-Mar-2011 due to concerns that radioactive particles leaking from the complex into the atmosphere could enter passing aircraft.
