Japan Airlines reportedly plans to reduce employee pay by 5% from Apr-2010 and eliminate bonuses in FY2010 (Nikkei Business Daily, 17-Feb-2010). The wage cuts, reportedly presented to eight labour unions and affecting all employees at Japan Airlines International Co, are reportedly expected to reduce annual personnel expenses by JPY30 billion (USD333 million). The airline would also reportedly consider adopting similar pay cuts for workers at other group firms, corresponding with their respective wage structures.
