JAL's LCC to have own brand name

Japan Airlines reportedly plans to research the establishment of an LCC that can guarantee safety and punctuality (The Yomiuri Shimbun, 27-Aug-2010). The carrier is considering establishing an LCC to assist its financial recovery, with the idea to be incorporated in the carrier's rehabilitation plan to be submitted to the Supreme Court on Tuesday. ANA, in Jun-2010, also expressed plans to establish a LCC in 1Q2011. JAL's LCC would reportedly be operated under its own brand name, rather than under the JAL brand.
