JAL to launch service from Tokyo Haneda to Paris, San Francisco, Honolulu, Bangkok and Songsan

Japan Airlines (JAL) received approval from the Japanese Government to launch new international routes from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Paris, San Francisco, Honolulu, Bangkok and Songsan, when the airport moves to 24-hour operations from Oct-2010 (BusinessTraveller, 17-Jun-2010). The carrier's Director of Corporate Planning, Eiji Takemura, stated JAL expects to announce the timing of the new services by the end of Jun-2010, but added the long-haul services will be scheduled for night departures. The carrier plans to operate the new services with daily frequency, although Haneda-Songsam services will reportedly be offered with twice daily frequency. The carrier is also applying for rights on the Tokyo Haneda-Singapore sector, competing with Singapore Airlines on the route.
