JAL director confirms aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by FY2050

Japan Airlines (JAL) director Tadashi Fujita, speaking at CAPA Live From Seattle June 2021, stated (09-Jun-2021) JAL aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by FY2050. Mr Fujita said the primary measures the airline will implement to achieve this are operating a fleet of fuel efficient aircraft, including A350s and Boeing 787s, and expanding its use of sustainable aviation fuels. He reported JAL aims to reduce its total emissions to less than 9.1 million tons p/a by FY2025 and to less than 8.2 million tons p/a by FY2030.
