Ireland's credit rating lowered by Standard & Poor’s

Ireland's credit rating was lowered by Standard & Poor's which added that a further downgrade is possible as the government tries to contain bank-rescue costs (Yahoo Financial, 02-Feb-2011). The rating was lowered to A- from with Ireland to remain on "creditwatch with negative implications".
