Indian carriers report 18.9% rise in 2010 domestic pax numbers

India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reports (18-Feb-2011) the following traffic highlights for Indian carriers in 2010:

  • Domestic:
    • Passenger numbers: 51.5 million, +18.9% year-on-year;
    • Passenger load factor: 76.8%, +6.7 ppts;
    • Cargo volume: 373,335 tonnes, +25.9%;
    • Departures: 525,504, +3.4%;
  • International:
    • Passenger numbers: 13 million, +17.1%;
    • Passenger load factor: 72.8%, +2.1 ppts;
    • Cargo volume: 268,905 tonnes, +40.9%;
