ILFC rails against aircraft programme delays

ILFC CEO Henri Courpron stated that the pattern of delay of large aircraft projects is "not sustainable from a company standpoint" and that aircraft manufacturers need to ease concerns about their ability to deliver new platforms on time (Reuters, 07-Sep-2010). The B787 and A380 programmes have both suffered delays of more than two years, while the B747-8 has also suffered substantial delays.

ILFC: "We are getting into a pattern that is not sustainable from a company standpoint. Their own performance on existing products is generating a lot of questions which normally you would not ask yourself when you have a new programme," Henri Courpron, CEO. Source: Reuters, 07-Sep-2010.
