Background ✨
Icelandair CEO Bogi Nils Bogason said Icelandair increased capacity 13% in 1Q2026, while currency fluctuations and salary increases weighed on costs, and he warned higher fuel prices would have a greater impact from 2Q2026; it also reported a USD107 million year-on-year improvement in financial position and continued emphasis on cost control and operational efficiencies1. Mr Bogason also cited record sales days in Feb-2026 and highlighted off-peak growth, with year-on-year gains in yield and load factor, including the highest January load factor on record2.
