ICAO’s Aviation Climate Week highlighted moves by member states to align verification and accreditation of aviation emissions data, while calling for tools, guidance and expanded regional training to sustain MRV quality under CORSIA1. Panellists also warned that national or regional aviation taxes alongside CORSIA created unnecessary complexity, fragmentation and extra costs, and said such revenues rarely funded sector decarbonisation1. IATA said volunteering states rose to 129 in 2025 and CORSIA coverage was projected to reach at least 85% of international emissions from 20272.
