IBGE reports a 16% reduction in airfares in Brazil in Aug-2019

Brazil's Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) announced (06-Sep-2019) a 15.7% year-on-year reduction in airfares in Aug-2019, following an 18.9% increase in Jun-2019 and an 18.6% increase in Jul-2019. IBGE head of research Pedro Kislanov stated: "After the adjustments for vacation months, airfares had a more elevated base, now they [airfares] return to a lower base".
