Iberia transferring short-haul routes to Vueling and Air Nostrum

Iberia has announced an agreement to sublease six A320 aircraft to Vueling for eight months and codeshare with the LCC in a move that will see it transfer several loss-making routes to the carrier (fly-news.es, 06-Feb-2011). Several more routes will be transferred to franchise partner Air Nostrum. Iberia is negotiating a new agreement with pilots that will determine the future of its short/medium-haul business model.
