IATA: Global airlines record USD60m operating profit in 2015, North America accounts for 60%

IATA reported (02-Jun-2016) the global airline industry generated an aggregate net profit of USD35.3 billion in 2015, with North American airlines accounting for almost two-thirds of profit. Details include:

  • Revenue: USD718 billion, -4.4% year-on-year;
    • Passenger: USD518 billion;
    • Cargo: USD52.8 billion;
  • Costs: USD659 billion, -8.0%;
