IATA director general: Capping demand 'completely ridiculous'

IATA director general Willie Walsh, speaking at the CAPA Airline Leader Summit - Airlines in Transition, stated (08-May-2025) "The only place where I hear discussions around capping demand is in some parts of Europe, and I call that greenwashing". Mr Walsh said: "Reducing domestic flying is completely ridiculous. We don't need to suppress demand we need to make our system efficient and eliminate waste".
