IATA DG: 'There's not much that anyone but the OEMs can do' to solve the aircraft supply issues

IATA DG Willie Walsh, speaking at the IATA AGM, stated (03-Jun-2024) aircraft manufacture supply issues have caused "some airlines to continue operating aircraft they'd planned to retire", and some airlines to return to service already retired aircraft, all of which is expensive. Mr Walsh added that ultimately "there's not much that anyone but the OEMs can do" to solve the aircraft supply issue. He also said issues at Boeing will not impact IATA's forecasts for industry growth, "because we've factored that in".
