IATA chief economist labels industry profitability as 'remarkable' in face of challenges

IATA chief economist Brian Pearce said it is "remarkable" the commercial aviation industry is generation a profit with high fuel costs and slow growth, and the industry has seen a "faltering" in the upturn in "world trade and business confidence" which correlate closely with airline industry profitability (The Guardian, 03-Jun-2014).
