IATA: Air travel growth slipping, confluence of factors behind the slow down

IATA director general and CEO Tony Tyler reported (07-Jul-2016) air travel demand growth is "slipping back toward more historic levels" following the very strong start to 2016. Mr Tyler attributed the slow-down to a combination of factors, including continuing terrorist activity and the fragile state of the global economy. He also noted that the "shocks of Istanbul and the economic fallout of the Brexit vote make it difficult to see an early uptick". [more - original PR]
