IATA: 140 identified SAF projects in progress by over 100 producers

IATA net zero transition director Hemant Mistry, speaking at the IATA AGM, stated (02-Jun-2024) "Policy is the make or break to make sure we have adequate SAF [sustainable aviation fuel]". Mr Mistry said the industry is "far from where we need to be", noting there needs to be "sufficient" production of SAF. He said 140 identified SAF projects are in progress by over 100 producers in 31 countries, stating: "In Europe there are smaller projects coming on board using different pathways".
