Hong Kong International Airport pax up 1%, cargo up 5% in Apr-2013

Hong Kong International Airport passenger numbers - traffic highlights for Apr-2013:

• Passenger numbers: 4.9 million, +1.1% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 342,000 tonnes, +4.5%;

The airport attributed (19-May-2013) visitation as the main driver behind the growth in passenger traffic with a 7% increase in Apr-2013. Routes to/from mainland China and Southeast Asia performed particularly well. Cargo traffic growth was primarily the result of a 5% growth in exports. During the month, cargo throughput to/from Southeast Asia and Taiwan outperformed other key regions.
