Hong Kong International Airport reports (18-Oct-09) the following traffic highlights in Sep-2009:

  • Passenger numbers: 3.5 million, -3.5% year-on-year;

Airport Authority Hong Kong: "Comparing year-on-year movements on a quarterly basis, decline in passenger volume has reduced from 1Q2009's 7.1% to 3Q2009's 3.5%, while cargo volume has improved significantly from a drop of 22.9% in 1Q2009 to a decline of 5.9% in 3Q2009. It should be noted that air traffic figures of 3Q2008 were comparatively lower as global economic downturn started to affect air traffic worldwide," Stanley Hui Hon-chung, CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong.
