Azores Airlines and SATA Air Açores previously boosted capacity for the 2025/26 festive season, adding approximately 5000 and 3500 seats respectively, on routes between mainland Portugal, Madeira, and the Azores, as well as on inter-island connections to accommodate higher demand from 08-Dec-2025 to 04-Jan-20261 2. In summer 2025, SATA Air Açores operated over 550 weekly inter-island flights with a fleet of eight aircraft3.
