Gold Coast Airport's closure on 05-Mar-2025 due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred was part of a wider disruption, with Virgin Australia suspending flights to the Gold Coast and Ballina until 07-Mar-2025 and operating a limited schedule to and from Brisbane before 06-Mar-20251. Rex Airlines also suspended Brisbane services on 06-Mar-2025 and 07-Mar-20252. Qantas Group cancelled several flights from South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales on 05-Mar-20253.
