Global airlines reports second monthly capacity increase in Sep-2009
OAG stated (24-Sep-2009) the world's airlines reported a 1.4% year-on-year increase in seat capacity in Sep-2009, while frequencies remain marginally down, by 0.6%. The low cost sector reported growth to/from and within all regions, with the exception of within Europe (2% fewer flights and 1% fewer seats) and within North America (8% fewer flights and 9% fewer seats). LCCs accounted for 18.4% and 22.2% of total global frequencies and seat capacity, respectively. Details include:
