Global airline capacity up 7% in Oct-2010

OAG reported (06-Oct-2010) global airline capacity and frequency rose 7% and 5%, respectively, in Oct-2010, for a total of 320.7 million seats and 2.6 million flights. Details include:

  • Within Asia: scheduled services +10%, capacity +10% year-on-year;
  • To/from Asia: +11%, +12%;
  • Within Middle East: +9%, +7%;
  • To/from Middle East: +12%, +11%;
  • Within Africa: +9%, +8%;
  • To/from Africa: +15%, +15%;
  • Within Europe: +5%, +6%;
  • To/from Europe: +13%, +12%;
  • Within North America: +1%, +2%;
  • To/from North America: +5%, +7%;
  • Within Central and South America: +8%, +6%;
  • To/from Central & South America: +1%, +3%;
