GACA appoints International Financial Corporation for advise on tendering for Madinah Airport

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced the appointment of International Financial Corporation, a World Bank subsidiary, to advise on tendering for private-sector participation in the proposed development of USD1.9-2.1 billion airport in Madinah (Gulf News, 22-Mar-2010). Construction is due to commence by 2010, to replace the existing Madinah Prince Mohammad Bin Abdul Aziz Airport by 2014. The build-operate-transfer tender is expected to be launched in May-2010.
