Frankfurt Airport pax growth of only 4% anticipated in 2012; profits and revenues to improve

Germany's Fraport CEO Stefan Schulte stated Frankfurt Airport will likely see only a 4% increase in passenger numbers in 2012 despite the additional new runway and amid current economic uncertainty. According to dpa-AFX, reports, this forecast growth is at the lower end of the current forecast of 4-7% growth for 2012. In 2011, the airport handled 56.4 million passengers, a 6.5% year-on-year increase. However, the airport is expecting improved profits and revenues in 2012, as previously anticipated, with the airport anticipating revenues to exceed the EUR2.3 billion achieved in 2011. EBTIDAR will likely increase by up to 15% from 2011 levels.
