Aer Lingus and Fórsa reportedly planned to meet at a Workplace Relations Commission conciliation hearing on 04-Oct-2021, after ground staff rejected cost-cutting measures in the airline’s ‘Company Covid Recovery’ plan1 2. Aer Lingus also warned it could shift from direct employment in ground handling to a ground operations model with “far fewer airplanes and far fewer jobs” if staff did not accept a proposed five-year pay freeze and other concessions3.
