Finnair’s scheduled traffic declined in 2009 by nearly 9%

Finnair reports (08-Jan-2010) the following traffic highlights for the 12 months ended 31-Dec-2009:

  • Passenger numbers: 7.4 million, -10.1% year-on-year;
    • Scheduled: 6.3 million, -9.2%;
  • ASKs: -9.8%;
  • RPKs: -9.0%;
  • Passenger load factor: 75.9%, 0.7 ppts;
  • Cargo volume: 89,234 tonnes, -12.6%. [more]

Finnair: "Finnair's scheduled traffic declined in 2009 by nearly nine per cent compared with the previous year. Last year, Finnair carried more than 7.4 million passengers on its scheduled and leisure flights. Business class passenger numbers fell in 2009 by a couple of per cent, but grew in December by 16 per cent, despite scheduled traffic capacity cuts," Company statement. Source: Finnair, 08-Jan-2010.
