Fiji Airways is 'the economic heartbeat of Fiji': MD and CEO

Fiji Airways MD and CEO Paul Scurrah, speaking at the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific, stated (29-Jul-2026) "We're very in debt to the Fijian economy and Fiji the country", noting the carrier is "the economic heartbeat of Fiji". Mr Scurrah added if "we're not successful, Fiji's economy pretty much goes into a recession".
