Farnborough: GECAS orders CFM56-7B engines for 40 B737NGs

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced (19-Jul-2010) an order for CFM56-7B engines to power 40 new B737NG aircraft. The engine order is valued at USD560 million at list prices. The leasing company is scheduled to begin taking delivery of the new aircraft 2013. All of GECAS' new CFM56-7B engines will be the "E" configuration. The new configuration is on schedule for certification by 31-Jul-2010 and entry into service in mid-2011. [more]
