Boeing stated it recommended that FedEx, UPS and Western Global Airlines suspend MD-11F operations pending further engineering analysis, following UPS's grounding of its MD-11Fs, which comprised approximately nine percent of its fleet. Boeing also supported the FAA's emergency airworthiness directive issued on 08-Nov-2025 in response to the UPS MD-11F engine and pylon detachment incident, the cause of which remained under investigation at that time1.
