Airlines for Europe raised concerns about introducing regulatory and financial obligations for non-CO2 effects under the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, citing insufficient scientific maturity and calling for mitigation obligations to be postponed until at least the end of 2027, pending further research and system testing of NEATS within flight-planning systems1. The first version of the tracking system had previously become available to operators, with further enhancements planned2.
