EU ETS to cost Lufthansa EUR300 million p/a

Lufthansa stated (01-Sep-09) its inclusion in the EU Emission Trading Scheme will add approximately EUR300 million p/a in costs from 2012, and will increase in every subsequent year. The carrier cautioned that the unilateral decision by the EU to include airlines in the ETS is a "huge distortion of competition".
