Etihad Airways seeks codeshares, strategic partnerships with Chinese airlines

Etihad Airways CEO James Hogan stated the carrier is looking to enter codeshare agreements and form strategic partnerships with Chinese airlines (Shanghai Daily, 07-Jul-2011). "We are in talks with some Chinese airlines about codeshare flights as cooperation is a key for our expansion," Mr Hogan said. He added the carrier is also looking for chances to form strategic partnerships with Chinese airlines in the future. The carrier this week has announced plans to launch service to two new destinations in China: Shanghai from 01-Mar-2012 and Chengdu from 15-Dec-2011. "We look forward to reaching more destinations in China, especially Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Chongqing," Mr Hogan said.
