Etihad Airways previously reduced its Boeing 777-9 orders to six as part of a widebody order restructuring, while its 787 orders remained unchanged at 42 awaiting delivery at that time, though the airline noted these could be modified in future1. The airline also launched a retrofit programme for its current 777 fleet, with CEO Antonoaldo Neves noting industry-wide aircraft delivery delays2.
